[ No surprise that Clover was punctual as ever. Five minutes to the second he's back in the main house of the compound with a basket of fresh red grape. Washed, too, because he still expects a practical joke and he wasn't going to feed his boyf- birdfriend dirty grapes.
He walks into the kitchen then lo and behold, a black-feathered bird is preening itself on the counter. ]
Uh...Qrow? [ Clover asks, a little too loud. Thinking he's calling out to the man hiding somewhere in the house. Watching Clover make an ass out of himself trying to talk to the fancy pigeon he apparently trained in his spare time. ]
[ Honestly Clover, which is more likely? That Qrow Branwen actually bothered to train a bird, or that he is the bird? Obviously, his intent is to leave the other man guessing for now.
A black bird is unique enough on Erku, but its glossy plumage and striking red eyes should be familiar to Clover. It looks just like the bird that had been periodically following him throughout the city.
When Clover calls out, the bird's head pops up from its wing, beak opening with a pleased clicking sound as it hops towards the edge of the counter and cranes its neck towards the grapes. ]
[ Not too belatedly does it click with Clover that Qrow might not have the level of pettiness let alone the patience to train a wild animal just to fuck with him. Also, and maybe he doesn't know much about birds, but there's just something too alert and aware in the red gleam of the bird's eyes.
Tentatively, and still cautious he was being punked, Clover plucked a grape from the basket and held it out. ]
[ The bird's priorities seem to be the same as the man Clover knows, because it snatches the grape of Clover's hand and begins to tear it apart on the countertop before any answer comes.
Once the sweet treat is wholly consumed, however, the crow tilts its head to eye the cautious human and beeps twice. ]
